New Orleans is colorful that’s for sure! Everywhere you look there’s a picture to be snapped. I could produce hundreds of photos a day on just one block in the French Quarter focusing on just one color alone.
Most people associate the colors of purple, green, and gold with New Orleans. And for sure, there are plenty of “Mardi Gras” colors around, but there’s also a richer, deeper, and more nuanced New Orleans palette. You will see it on the shutters and porches of Garden District homes, the stucco of historic French Quarter buildings and the aged-patina of our wrought iron balconies.
One of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon is walking around with my camera taking pictures of one category of the city. I especially love photography doors. Doors offer a little gateway into what type of home lies beyond.
